Unsure of when to take your child for their first check up?
The British Society of Paediatric Dentistry (BSPD) suggests no later than their first birthday when they are aware of their surroundings. Dental fear affects 1 in 4 of us to varying degrees and we believe making your child comfortable early on will help prevent dental anxiety in the future.
By introducing your child to their dentist early we can establish a relationship and element of trust leaving them relaxed during their visits. We can then spot any issues before they develop into anything more serious. From early tooth decay to overcrowding, these can be treated preventing any major tooth damage.
On their first visit we will assess any cavity risks and talk through any signs that dummies and thumb sucking may be influencing normal tooth growth. We will also share tips and advice for at home measures to further prevent tooth decay including brushing techniques, flossing and diet to contribute to your child’s positive oral health.
We have a close affiliation with several schools in the area. Contact us to see if yours is included and we may have a few treats!
